Community Volunteers

Volunteer Betty Ireland proved she could dance by helping to raise $3,600,000 to restore the Turlock Community Theatre. Then she proved she could REALLY dance at the Theatre Grand Opening!                  Sunny Washburn simply IS the Turlock Community Theatre. She founded the organization, served as its President for more than a decade and volunteered in the office full-time for 15 years. John Lind, VenueTech's CEO, loves to say 'when Sunny walks down the street, folks move to the other side because they are afraid she is going to ask for more money'. In this picture, John Lind and Judy Barkett, VP of VenueTech, say goodbye to Sunny as she and her husband Hugh move to Louisiana.
VenueTech staff and volunteers work at a street faire to promote the coming opening of the restored Theatre in Eureka, California.          Claudia Cauthorn is not only VenueTech's client as the Campbell Director of Leisure and Community Services, but VenueTech also talked her into volunteering for the new nonprofit board of directors.
City Council members cut the ribbon on the newly refurbished Heritage Theatre in Campbell, California
Council member Jeanette Watson was perhaps the key player in making the Heritage Theatre come to life.
Long time Jefferson Theatre volunteer Gwen Mercer (here with John Lind, VenueTech CEO) traveled all the way from Texas to California to find VenueTech to help bring her dream to reality.

Roy Steinhagen and Vic Rogers provided much needed leadership, fundraising effort and personal contributions to make the $6,000,000 Jefferson Theatre restoration possible.
Where would a theatre be without musicians?
Staff and volunteers backstage with The Pendragons.  Some lucky volunteers get to hear private jokes from very funny people..... (seen here with VenueTech Production Manager Dion Cook and the Smothers Brothers)
A dedicated group, the Alumni Board of the Turlock Community Theatre (seen with John Lind and Judy Barkett of VenueTech)
VenueTech even makes sure our volunteers and patrons have happy wedding days.
There is no end to what VenueTech employees will do to have fun with a volunteer. Here Carolyn Johnson of VenueTech is seen with Jefferson Theatre Board President Nancy Beaulieu and of course, Elvis.
The Original Four ... the legend is told in Turlock, California that Sunny, Louise, Bee and Janice each chipped in $25.00 for a mailing to get the ball rolling. Fifteen years later (with the four still working hard and VenueTech now on board) the $3,600,000 restoration of the Turlock Community Theatre was completed. It's amazing what $25.00 and a wonderful dream can create.
